These social structures show us how people got treated and how they lived. In history it is very critical to study and compare Egyptian, Roman, and the Medieval social structures and how they differ from one another. How it changed from civilization to civilization in it is way of life. Here are some similarities and differences of how they lived.
First, in Ancient Egypt there was a very different social class from what the others are like... There would be a king or Pharaoh (it means "great house") that would rule the land and call all the shots, even the laws and aspects of the people. Some enslaved people would build the pyramids in honor of Pharaohs. In Egypt the nobles and Priest were known as wealthy daily life people. In the social structure are treated with more rights than other people in let’s say Rome. They could inherit land and handle business transactions. They could even have jobs such as scribes and merchants. However most woman were not ever taught how to read or write. In the Egyptian way of life the Pharaohs or kings can be unified or come together to rule. The Egyptian people did believe in a god, Amon-Ra, the sun god.

Then there is Ancient Rome which had the rich people the patricians and the poorer people the plebeians. What is different about these two social groups is that a plebeians and patrician can't marry one another. The patricians were wealthy powerful citizens who had nice houses and things like that. Plebeians were merchants, farmers, and soldiers. They also had tribunes who protected the rights of the plebeians. In Rome all citizens were inspired by stories of Roman courage, honor, and loyalty. The Plebeians did struggle to survive in Rome. Then the tribunes were the ones who became powerful. They also had types of government in which they established a republic. A republic is where citizens have the right to vote. They have representatives who serve the governing body called the Senate. A citizen who could vote was most everyone but slaves and foreigners. Only Patricians ran the Roman republic. They would elect 2 consuls that would manage the government and army. However, in an emergency, the consuls named one person who would rule, the dictator, the person who would take control over all the people. The top of everything would be the Caesars or the most famous generals. They would lead great army in conquests.

The Middle Ages was a time of kings, vessels, lords, knights, peasants, and serfs. First there was Kings who gave some of their land to lords, who the lords would give land to their knights, next the knights that were given the land would then became vassals. The serfs would be on the land and work for the owners but with pay, and they were free. They also lived there by will but, whoever owed the land would own the serfs. The land owner would be responsible for the food, water, and the protection of the serfs. Many of the serfs believed that living as part of that "Package was better than living as a peasant. Peasants owned their own land but they were not part of anything special. In the Middle Ages they had a system called feudalism. It was a system where many landowners had a great amount of power.

Some similarities are that all of these civilizations have kings. They both had slaves who were not treated very nicely or respected. They had wealthy people and people who weren’t so important to their kind. All of these people are important to the tricky balance of the social structure. The social structure is very important to everyone in the civilizations. They all had some type of ruler or government that took care of their people. This is how the social structures have differences and similarities.
